Lis Salerno is a promising and empathetic MSW Intern currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at National University. Her journey into the field of mental health is enriched by a diverse background that includes experience as an intern at an educational center, substitute teaching, and working as a Licensed Massage Therapist. This unique combination of experiences has equipped Lis with a holistic understanding of well-being and a versatile skill set that enhances her ability to connect with and support clients across various stages of life and challenges.

Lis's areas of specialization are focused yet comprehensive, covering children, adolescents, and young adults. She is particularly adept at addressing suicide ideology, LGBTQIA+ issues, eating disorders, and substance use. Her expertise in working with young populations allows her to provide targeted support for the unique challenges faced by individuals aged 4 to 22, a critical period of growth and development.

Lis's therapeutic approach is both evidence-based and client-centered, incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This eclectic toolkit enables Lis to tailor her approach to each client's unique needs and circumstances, providing nuanced and effective care for children, adolescents, and young adults.
