Tara, LMSW, graduated from Fordham University with a concentration in clinical work with individuals and families. She has two years of experience as a clinician in community mental health, working with individuals of all life stages, and is experienced in working with clients with serious mental illness and complex trauma. Tara also has experience as an educator, incorporating psychoeducation into her practice.
Her areas of specialization include trauma, OCD, LGBTQ+ issues, grief, self-esteem, peer relationships, life transitions, codependency, schizophrenia, mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and working with families and couples. Tara uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her practice, including trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, positive psychology, exposure therapy, supportive therapy, interpersonal therapy, narrative therapy, strengths-based therapy, attachment-based therapy, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy.
Tara believes her holistic and integrative approach, rooted in trauma-focused, person-in-environment, and biopsychosocial perspectives, sets her apart from other therapists. She focuses on clients' strengths and provides a safe, non-judgmental space for exploration and growth, encouraging clients to explore their true potential and build more fulfilling lives.
